A new music service has been launched by mobile giant Nokia and music promoter Live Nation to buy tickets for gigs from your mobile.

Ticketrush.co.uk will allow punters the opportunity to buy tickets to gigs, events and festivals.

Their will be specific promotions for users to be the first to buy tickets and the potential to have access to last minute tickets for shows that have been declared ‘sold out’.

Once users have signed up to ticketrush.co.uk, they can personalise their service and receive SMS or email alerts notifying them of the latest news and ticket information about events customised to their favourite genre.

Nokia and Live Nation plan to develop ticketrush.co.uk into a fully realised mobile music service, where users will be able to buy tickets direct from their mobile phone.

Nokia’s Head of UK Marketing, Simon Lloyd said yesterday: “Music is one of the key areas where Nokia products have led the mobile industry, to the extent that we are now the largest manufacturer of digital music players in the world.

“This great new service will allow us to reach out to not only our own, but all handset users to bring them together with the music they love.”

Live Nation Marketing Director Jenni Cairns added: “Mobile phones will not only become even more integral to people's lives, but will also contribute to the evolution of the music industry.

“Ticketrush.co.uk provides mobile access to the latest ticketing offers, which will revolutionise the way we purchase tickets.”

Ticketrush.co.uk was officially launched 1 February and tickets are currently being sold for the UK tours of Girls Aloud and The Darkness.

Last-minute tickets are available for Trivium and Depeche Mode during the first launch week.
