Networking

Contacts are worth their weight in gold and you cannot possibly have too many. Networking provides the best way to make new contacts. Most professional organisations run networking opportunities for this reason. Go out and mingle, meet people and talk. You never know when someone will be in a position to do you a favour, give advice or to point you towards new opportunities.  

Mentoring

Everyone benefits from experience, so why not benefit from somebody else's? Whether it's a formal or an informal experience, talking to a mentor allows you to explore al those questions burning at the back of you mind. Wherever you want to go, chances are that they've been there already, so why not take advantage of that?
