Play it again, Sam
The BBC is looking into sharing their successful iPlayer technology with other public service broadcasters. The move would go some way to help address the issue of a level playing field for broadcasters who have raised concerns over the license fee.
Channel 4, who is currently struggling financially, would be set to benefit most. There has also been some talk about allowing the company to have a stake in BBC Worldwide, the BBC’s commercial division.
The moves come following a broadcasting review commissioned by Ofcom.
