Nintendo DSi sells plenty on opening weekend
Features
Ok, so being the fourth fastest-selling console in UK history isn't perhaps the sexiest honour, but for what is essentially an upgrade rather than a reinvention, the DSi has done pretty well on its launch weekend. Only the PS3, Wii and PSP have sold more on their opening weekends. And yes, the PSP really was that hot once.

PS3 firmware and why FIFA 09 could be a collectors edition on the south coast
Features
Often first in the trade-in pile come Aug/Sept it looks like I could be keeping my copy of FIFA 09 for many years to come. Not because of any great improvements – though this is the best one yet, at least until 2010 anyway – but because this could be the last to feature Southampton FC. PS3, Xbox 360 and review scores - which format scores higher?
Features
Ok, it's Wednesday and the weekend still feels a long way off. What better way to get through today then a classic PS3/360 stat fight? Oh, go on then. Edge Online have been crunching review stats and come up with some goodies. The most interesting is that since launch in 2005 around 13% of Xbox 360 titles have review scores of 85% or higher. This compares to 17% of PS3 games.

iPhone 3.0: the seven things every gamer should know
Features
Apple is quite low-key with its announcements and tech sites aren't usually that interested in what the company has to say, so you may have missed yesterday's revelations regarding the upgraded iPhone operating system. Everyone's going on about cut and paste (my copy of Word has been doing that for ages!), but what are the really important additions that 3.0 brings? I'll tell you. They are the additions to do with games.

The top ten Singstar downloads - and what is says about us as singers
Features
A group of mates stumble back home after a long, merry Friday night at the pub. "Hey, let's play SingStar," someone drawls as the drinks cabinet is raided for that bottle of ouzo brought back from a Greek island hopping trip in 2002. "We need some new songs," declares someone else, "Let's get on the SingStar store!"

PlayStation links up with Puccini
News
Video gaming's preoccupation with guns and violence is usually more suited to an episode of The Sopranos than the warble of a mezzosoprano. But hi-tech and highbrow will come together this month as Sony attempts to bring a flavour of the PlayStation to Puccini.
