"Wii knee" epidemic warning for Christmas
Playing Wii this Christmas could be bad for your health, according to doctors who are predicting a rise in Wii injuries over the Christmas period.
Tennis and golf have been named as the most likely games to give you a painful sprain, or even a fracture.
Doctors warn that those who spend too long on the games, especially those unused to exercise, are particularly at risk.
Researchers at Leeds Teaching Hospital have identified an injury they called "Wii knee".
Last Christmas, osteopaths saw an increase in back patients after Christmas, and blamed the trend on fathers trying to keep up with kids on the Wii. ![]()
