How the French shrugged off their malaise - and the British gallantly picked it up for them
Features
So here I am in France, reading about how unhappy, anxious, fearful, depressed, uneasy and stressed the British have become. A Mental Health Foundation study shows that the nation suffers all those ailments, far more than it used to. That's hardly surprising. Predictably, the financial crisis gets much of the blame, with fear of crime also putting in a strong performance.

Should our schools teach children to 'dive within'?
Features
It's extremely rare for the surviving members of the Beatles to perform together, but this month they found a cause they could both believe in - and it wasn't cold, hard cash. Talking therapy
Features

Therapists, writers and artists have joined the protest, frustrated at the misinformation that has plagued the debate around regulation. For them, most forms of talking therapy cannot be classified as health professions, and the market-led vision of therapy the HPC presupposes is antithetical to the values and ethics of psychotherapy and the basic principles of freedom of thought and belief.

Stories behind the cancer headlines
Features
With survival rates in the UK among the worst in Europe, constant rows over the postcode lottery in access to life-extending drugs, and patient activism a growing phenomenon, cancer has become a key political issue. Add in Jade Goody's personal battle, and the fact that cancer patients are increasingly benefiting from some major advances in treatment, and the disease has never been more high-profile. It should therefore be a good time to launch the country's first magazine all about cancer.
