scenta launches careers networking
It’s a fact that our users are relying less on traditional communications and more on consulting peers for advice and recommendations. So, as well as finding authoritative news and careers content on the site, our users will now be able to join (and create) groups of their peers to discuss courses, careers and companies – plus any other hot topics they fancy.
Networking tools
Every group has its own unique homepage with our message board, blogs and forums functionality – enabling users to talk about anything from projects to career decisions or simply just keep in touch. There’s no limit to the number of groups a user can join or create, so they get to network with even more people studying or working in science, engineering & technology
Each registered user has their own private homepage too, with the same wall and blogs functionality to enable 1 to 1 communication, plus quick links to the latest news, interviews and reviews that interest them.
Further tools will be delivered over the next few months – to keep our users coming back for more. Plus, we’re inviting user feedback to help improve what we deliver – because the site is designed for them.
Network with your audience
The social networks do provide companies with a communication tool to reach a very wide audience, but scenta.co.uk will be the perfect channel for organisations to reach a more targeted audience specifically interested in Science, Engineering & Technology. In due course we will introduce ‘corporate’ groups to allow organisations to engage with their audience and find out what they really think in a free-speaking, frank, online environment, negating the need for expensive direct mail / email campaigns.

New beginnings for Science Worlds
The re-launch of Science Worlds will follow shortly and along with the new networking functionality, ScienceWorlds.co.uk will be re-branded bescenta.co.uk and the magazine bescenta. As already reported, the new branding will help our users identify the site as a networking site (like Bebo) and will highlight the family connection to scenta.co.uk. This will create an obvious transition to the site when they reach the 18-30 age bracket and therefore we retain their loyalty.
