Equation

    Name Power

    Equation P = V I = V 2 R = I 2 R

    Definition of terms P = power, V = voltage, I = current, R = resistance

Comments   Assuming that the voltage and current are in phase, the power developed in a circuit is equal to the product of the voltage and current. Applying Ohm's Law gives us the final two relations.
