Comments |
In atomic physics, the equation governing the frequencies of photons emitted due to electrons falling from energy level n to energy level m is as above. In the Brackett series, the electrons are falling to the m = 4 level. The constant R is determined empirically, and different for each atom.
The Brackett series is named after Frederick Brackett (1896 - 1980). |
