Equation

    Name Bragg Equation

    Equation n λ = 2 d sin θ

Definition of terms n is an integer, λ is the wavelength of the incident light, d is the inter-atomic plane spacing, and θ is the incident angle

Comments  The Bragg equation describes reflection of light from a crystal. If monochromatic light is shone onto a crystal, and fulfils the condition above, then it will interfere constructively, and a reflection will be observed.
