Equation

    Name Constructive Interference

    Equation path difference =

    Definition of terms m = integer, λ = wavelength

Comments   At any point where the path difference between two beams of the same wavelength emitted from two separate sources is equal to a whole number of wavelengths, then the waves will constructively interfere. The amplitudes will add, and the resulting amplitude will be greater than either of the individual amplitudes.
