Equation

    Name de Moivre's Theorem

    Equation e i θ = cos θ + i sin θ

    Definition of terms i = - 1

    Comments

De Moivre's theorem relates trigonometry of sine and cosine functions to the exponential function. As a special case of this theorem, we substitute θ=π, and obtain the equation e+1=0.
