Rear view
The Gentex Corporation, suppliers to the automotive industry, has been awarded the PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers’ Contribution to Excellence) Award.
The award recognises their Rear Camera Display (RCD) Mirror, which includes an automatically dimming rear view mirror with an integrated LCD display. The LCD appears automatically when the vehicle is in reverse and disappears once the car is moving forward.
It was designed to answer the issues of rear blind zones which make certain objects and people undetectable.
“As an organisation that understands the importance of innovation, we’re exceptionally pleased that the RCD Mirror has been recognised with a 2008 PACE Award. This product is a culmination of teamwork across multiple technology disciplines within Gentex that provides a corporate culture that fosters innovation as a tool for creating a competitive advantage,” commented Gentex chairman and CEO Fred Bauer.
